Cystoscopy

In conjunction with our partners Vision Sciences, Dantec offer a range of Cystoscope products that utilise unique EndoSheath® Slide-On® technology.

EndoSheath® Slide-On® Technology

The cystoscopy hardware range all work in conjunction with the EndoSheath® to provide each and every patient with a fully sterile insertion tube.

Why use an EndoSheath®?

Endosheath® Slide-On® technology provides a single-use sterile covering for the Cystoscope equipment, and an effective barrier to micro-organisms and pathogens as small as 27 nanometers in diameter (minimum specification requested by the FDA)

Using an EndoSheath® eliminates the need to run through High-Level Disinfection procedures on the Cystoscope in between each patient.

After a case:

• The used EndoSheath® is removed safely and disposed of
• The Cystoscope unit is rendered ‘clean’ by wiping down with 70% alcohol
• The Cystoscope is then fitted with a brand new sterile EndoSheath® ready for the next patient
• Turnaround time is significantly reduced to approximately 5 minutes
• Standard High Level Disinfection procedure with conventional Cystoscopes takes a minimum of 30 minutes up to 1 hour depending on the process used.

The cost of buying a supply of Endosheaths versus running a High Level Disinfector Unit is usually at least cost neutral.

• Using an EndoSheath® Slide-On® system is designed to increase patient throughput at clinic, increase turnover and reduce patient waiting times.

How Does it Work?

• The D-shaped insertion tube of the Cystoscope allows the working channel to be built into the EndoSheath® to provide a cystoscope with acceptable dimensions for inserting into patients.
• The working channel on the EndoSheath® acts as both the fluid channel to infuse fluid into the Urethra and bladder to allow the lens to pick up high quality images be it through our Fibre or Video scopes.

There are two types of Slide-On® EndoSheath® available with different diameter working channels.

• 1.5mm working channel, known as the Diagnostic EndoSheath®
• 2.1mm working channel, known as the Therapeutic EndoSheath®

The difference between the EndoSheaths® is functionality.

The 1.5mm channel is effective for simple diagnosis and/or check cystoscopies.

The 2.1mm channel allows simple procedures to be carried out, with instruments such as graspers for stent removal up to 6 Fr in size, fitting down the working channel.

Unique

• Remember EndoSheath® Slide-On® technology was the first sheath to be able to provide each and every patient with a sterile working channel.
• Conventional cystoscopes cannot provide a patient with a sterile working channel.
• EndoSheath® Slide-On® technology reduces the risk of cross-contamination between patients

Safety

Safety is the absolute priority for any Cystoscopy patient.

Some facts about Endosheath® Slide-On® technology:

• Each single-use EndoSheath® is individually packaged and sterilised
• EndoSheaths® are tested and proven effective barriers to microorganisms as small as 27 nanometers (FDA requirement)
• Slide-On® EndoSheaths® are 100% Latex Free
• Slide-On® EndoSheaths® have a 3-year shelf life
• 100% of Slide-On® EndoSheaths® are inspected after manufacturing
• 100% of Slide-On® EndoSheaths® are leak tested after manufacturing before packaging
• Slide-On® EndoSheaths® are FDA Cleared and CE marked products
• The manufacturers, Vision Sciences, are an ISO 9001 Certified Company

Video Cystoscopes

In July 2008 Dantec Dynamics have the pleasure of introducing the brand new CST5000 Video Cystoscope into the UK market. The first Video Cystoscope utilising the Slide-On® EndoSheath® system, guaranteeing customers all-round satisfaction.

The CST5000 Video Cystoscope uses the Slide-On® Endosheaths® to provide many of the same benefits as the Fibre scopes. However, the CST5000 is set apart from the fibre scopes and traditional scopes by the quality of the Video Images produced by the Cystoscope and its processing unit.

Features include:

• Highest quality CCD imaging technology
• Pure ‘white light’ LED illumination
• Dynamic endoscopic controls
• High performance angulation design
• Mini HD technology
• No truncated images
• Ultraclean keyboard
• Portable image archiving
• 15” LCD display unit built into processor
• Portable video cystoscopy
